The United Pickleball Association (UPA) announced the details surrounding the 2024 World Championships, which will take place at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas, from November 1-10.

Here is a preliminary schedule of events:

November 1-3 - Major League Pickleball First Round Playoffs

  • The Nos. 3, 4, 5, and 6 seeds of both the Premier Level and Challenger Level will play in the first round playoffs, with the lowest seeds getting to pick their matchup
  • The two winners from the Challenger Level first-round playoffs will ensure promotion to the Premier Level in 2025
Major League Pickleball announces 2024 Competition Structure
Major League Pickleball announced its competition structure ahead of the 2024 season, which kicks off later this week. We break down the key changes.

November 1-3 - DUPR Collegiate National Championships

  • The DUPR Collegiate National Championships are taking place at the venue concurrently with the MLP first round playoffs
  • The event has $20,000 in scholarships up for grabs for the top performers
  • It would be really interesting to see if Jack Munro can make the MLP Challenger Level playoffs and play both of these events

November 3 - Pickleball Boulevard Block Party

  • The party will have live music, local food and drink options, and interactive sponsor activations, among other things

November 3-10 - Open Amateur Play

November 3-10 - State Champions Division

  • There will be 51 State Championships to qualify for this event, truly crowning a World Championship in all divisions

November 3-10 - Pro Division

  • The 2023 BioFreeze Nationals was one of the first times the UPA used the Progressive Draw, which they will use again in 2024
  • Championship Sunday will include all gold and bronze medal matches

November 5 - Deep Eddy Vodka Celebrity Pickleball Showdown

  • Players will be announced at a later date, but if it is anything like last year, this will be one of the biggest spectacles of the week-long event
  • Last year some of the players included Scottie Scheffler (who is actually really good at pickleball), Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Romo, Jason Kidd, among others

In addition to all of the other events, there will be a Pickleball Business Forum, date to be determined.
