Betting on pro pickleball just became more streamlined and accessible.
Sound familiar? We reported on the partnership between Genius Sports, a betting technology platform, and the PPA Tour before this year's Selkirk Texas Open, where it was first publicly tested. PPA and Genius have been circling around their deal since at least 2021.
But now, sportsbooks can offer data-powered markets and live video feeds on pro pickleball in 10 legalized betting states.
According to a press release, the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour has become the first-ever pickleball organization available on the sports betting market.
Beginning today with FanDuel Sportsbook, fans across 10 legalized betting states and one Canadian province can now place wagers on PPA Tour events, including the Vulcan Kansas City Open, which runs August 24-27.
Bettors will be able to watch the live action while placing wagers on different betting markets, such as match winners, correct match scores, total points (over/under) and head-to-head.
The PPA Tour expects all major U.S. sportsbooks to host pickleball gambling upon receiving approval in additional states.
"...All PPA Tour professionals are subject to the PPA Tour Sports Betting and Integrity Policy," according to the press release.
"All PPA Tour staff, officials and players have been required to complete an e-learning platform focused on betting integrity and player wellbeing."
