The Patriarche Park Pickleball Association is leading a fundraising effort with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to improve the new courts going in at Patriarche Park.
East Lansing is home to Michigan State University, former stomping grounds of pros Simone Jardim and Catherine Parenteau. The area is not ripe with pickleball courts and the addition of 10 new courts will be the biggest in the area. The park is within 10 minutes of campus and will support students as well as the local community.
The goal of the fundraiser was to reach $50,000 on the fundraising platform patronicity to trigger a match from the MEDC. The project is receiving the majority of funding from a Natural Resources Trust Fund grant and city funding.
