One by one, eventually, all former great tennis players (and current ones, too) will be in a similar position as Roger Federer.
Admitting that pickleball is ... gasp ... fun.
In a recent interview discussing an upcoming Prime Video documentary, "Federer: Twelve Final Days," Federer admits that he recently found interest in pickleball.
"It felt like a big version of ping-pong ... It felt strange and unreal ... It was like 110 degrees when I played, so I was more battling the circumstances than the game. It’s an easier game than tennis and it’s fun."
While some pickleball enthusiasts will be indignant over calling our sport a big version of ping-pong or saying it felt strange and unreal, we're going to consider this a huge win for our side.
Any time one of tennis's greatest players admits a) that they played pickleball and b) that they found it at least somewhat enjoyable, that's headline-worthy to us.
Take that Nick Kyrgios.
Oh and if you want to catch that documentary, “Federer: Twelve Final Days” premieres on Prime Video starting June 20.
