Selkirk AMPED Control is a Refreshing New Paddle for 2024

by Jason Flamm on

This year, pickleball players have been bombarded with messages from paddle companies promising more power than ever before.

And most of those promises have fallen short – for reasons we've discussed ad nauseam.

Today's paddle announcement from Selkirk takes a different approach.

The new Selkirk AMPED Control is built for players who crave control and lasting spin.

And honestly, talking about something other than power is pretty refreshing.

Introducing the Selkirk AMPED Control

Selkirk AMPED Control features lasting spin and ultimate control

In 2017, Selkirk introduced the first pickleball paddle that enabled both power and control. This hybrid innovation, known as AMPED, quickly became a favorite among pickleball players who previously had to choose between power and control.

AMPED was the industry's first thick core innovation, coming in at 5/8” when all other paddles were 1/2” or less. It was the first paddle to offer both power and control in one, allowing players to put away shots with the necessary power while dominating at the net with precision.

In doing so, it forever changed the landscape of the sport.

Now, Selkirk is excited to introduce the AMPED Control, a paddle designed to evolve your game.

This new iteration features a next-generation Ultra Durable surface coating that provides long-lasting spin while maintaining the classic AMPED feel that players know and love.

According to Selkirk, this new Ultra Durable coating results from hundreds of evolutions and iterations in their R&D process.
