In honor of MLP kicking off this week, we at The Dink wanted to give the fans our top 10 matches from 2024. There were obviously great matches left off this list, but this top ten represents the most memorable MLP matches of 2024. They could be memorable for how high the stakes were, how long the match was, which line calls were being made, etc.
For those fans gearing up to watch MLP 2025 starting Thursday, this could be your catalyst for re-watching some of these epic matches.

10 - MLP Las Vegas Challenger – Las Vegas Night Owls vs. SoCal Hard 8s
Las Vegas was pushing for a playoff spot and beat SoCal at home in a nailbiter, 32-30, in the last game. At the time, SoCal was the #1 Challenger team.
9 - MLP Mid-Season Tournament - California Black Bears vs. Florida Smash
The infamous match where Michelle Esquivel ruled a ball out that was at least a foot in. No video reviews indoors caused a ton of controversy.
8 - Championship Match #2 - New Jersey 5s vs. Dallas Flash
Dallas won in a Dreambreaker 21-15 to beat NJ for the only time in 2024 in a Dreambreaker, keeping their Championship hopes alive.
7 - MLP Miami (Challenger) – Frisco Pandas (Now Nashville Chefs) vs. Miami Pickleball Club
Needing at least two points from the match to make the playoffs, the Pandas beat Miami 25-23 in the second mixed doubles match, earning them 3 points and a spot in the playoffs
6 - MLP Salt Lake City - Orlando Squeeze vs. Utah Black Diamonds
Orlando won a match in a Dreambreaker with 3 subs - Milan Rane, Spencer Smith, and Roscoe Bellamy. Parris Todd was the only permanent Squeeze player in the match.

5 - Challenger Semifinals Match #2 – SoCal Hard 8s vs. Miami Pickleball Club
SoCal wins in a Dreambreaker 22-20 and had gotten swept in the first match.
4 - MLP Mid-Season Tournament Finals -
New Jersey won the tournament in this highly contested match, winning 21-18 in a Dreambreaker.
3 - MLP Semifinals Match #2 - St. Louis Shock vs. Dallas Flash
Dallas swept St. Louis in match 1, and everyone was shocked (pun intended) - Going into mixed doubles, it was tied 1-1, and Dallas won both mixed doubles matches 26-24 in overtime pickleball.
2 - MLP Mid-Season Tournament – Orlando Squeeze vs. NY Hustlers
The mixed doubles match between Tyson McGuffin/Parris Todd vs. CJ Klinger/Jackie Kawamoto was won by the Orlando Squeeze by a score of 40-38. This match also went to a Dreambreaker and Orlando barely won that, 26-24.
1 - Championship Match #3 – New Jersey 5s vs. Dallas Flash
The Dallas Flash won in epic fashion, 3-1. MD 23-25, WD 25-17, MXD1 – 28-26, MXD2 – 25-21. JW and Jorja narrowly beat Zane and Mari and the match looked like it was going to a Dreambreaker. Instead, Augie Ge and Hurricane Tyra Black upset Will Howells and Anna Leigh Waters, 25-21, for the victory.
