Utah Gubernatorial Candidate Invites You to His "Pickelball" Tournament
In case you haven't heard, the hot new sport taking the world by storm is pickelball—no, not pickleball as it's actually spelled. Instead, a "Pickelball Tournament" will allow voters in Utah to meet and greet Phil Lyman, who is running for governor in the state.
You'll also be happy to discover there is a $200 prize pot and free swag (which seems to be a Lyman for Governor shirt with a matching hat – which are sure to be hot commodities among the pickelball community).
Utah is home to some great pickleball
Utah is considered a pickleball hotbed as it is home to some of the top pros in the game, including Tyler Loong, Callie Jo Smith, Allyce Jones, Etta Wright, and more.
Utah was second-best in average doubles ratings and fourth-best in average ratings for singles in the United States, according to our friends at DUPR.
So, it's not wild to think that a political candidate from the state would try to appeal to more voters by promoting pickleball.
It remains to be seen, however, whether this "pickelball" tournament will win him any support.
